Oval carpets

Rectangular | Square | Oval | Round | Runners

An example from the Feel Good Rugs-collection.
Oval carpets are very rare and there are no standardized sizes on these. They are measured the same way as rectangular carpets.

The oval carpet is similar to the round carpets in its history, origin and design. They originate from China and France (Aubusson- and Savonnerie styles).

Since about 40 years ago, they have become very popular in Iran and are mainly manufactured in Tabriz, Isfahan and Nain. Many of the oval carpets on the market today have medallions. But some carpets with a more modern design from Nepal are beginning to reach the market.
